JAKARTA – Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate met with United States Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia, Heather Variava to discuss opportunities for cooperation to accelerate digital transformation.

“The discussion on the technological aspects extends to the human resources or digital talent provided by the Ministry of Communication and Information. America is providing this support,” said Johnny, in a written statement, Monday, August 31.

“There is an opportunity between the United States government to cooperate with companies and the Indonesian government. But there is also an opportunity to support training and education related to human capital development, which is a priority for Mr. Jokowi (President Joko Widodo),” said Variava.

The Ministry conveyed opportunities for cooperation with foreign countries in the telecommunications sector, including with the United States, which would be followed up with the stages and mechanisms applicable in Indonesia.
